Happy Thanksgiving, y’all! I seriously can’t believe it is already the end of November (hence why I’m barely getting this post up). I know every month I say “I promise I’ll get next month’s favorites up early!” yet here we are. My October favorites were mainly beauty products, except for one pair of sunnies, which I’m still wearing a ton. Before I dive in though, I want to take a minute to talk about some things I am thankful for today.
I am thankful for my family and their health. I am thankful for all of the opportunities that have come my way. 2016 was a year full of massive successes, and I am so blessed and lucky to do what I do. I am grateful for all the amazing friends we have made in Houston. Moving to such a large city was a big step for us, and our friends welcomed us with open arms. We appreciate you more than you will ever know. I am thankful for my husband, who works so hard not only towards his Doctorate degree, but to also work as much as he can while in school. Rufus and I are so grateful for you, babe. Thank you for being the best husband and Dog Daddy to our little family. We love you!
Now that I’ve got all the mushy gushy stuff out of the way, let’s get on to my favorites for October!
This is my new favorite CC cream. Perfect for those days when I am just running errands around town and don’t want to put on a whole face of makeup on. It has a good medium coverage that is buildable but doesn’t look cakey. It also has a great smell, which is a big deal for me. I can’t stand when products smell super chemically. I have tried applying it with this BEAUTY BLENDER and this MORPHE BRUSH and I think I prefer the BB more. It gives it more of a flawless finish. This is definitely a must-have in anyone’s makeup drawer. It stays put all day and is super quick and easy!
I’ve been obsessed with Tarte’s Amazonian Clay blushes for some time now. I have several different shades but for some reason I found myself reaching for this shade in particular a lot last month. It has a nice cool nude undertone so it pairs nicely with almost any eye look. A little goes a long way with this blush, so make sure and tap off the excess product before applying. It doesn’t get patchy and it stays in place all day long, which we all know is a must for me.
These champagne colored highlighting drops are AMAZING! You can dab it on your cheekbones for a pretty highlight, or simply add a drop or two to your foundation for a nice radiant complexion. There are several different shades to choose from and they are all gorgeous. If you’re a big fan of the Custom Enhancer Drops x Cover FX, these are a great dupe! My favorite way to wear them is to blend out one drop on the highest points of my cheekbones. It gives me a nice dewy highlight that doesn’t look sticky or greasy. So gorgeous and really affordable!
I picked up this lip treatment a few months ago at Sephora and just got around to trying it… SO GOOD! It leaves my lips feeling super soft, supple, and plump. I like to apply mine in the morning while I’m doing my makeup, then wipe it off right before I apply my liquid lipsticks. It makes the lipsticks wear a lot longer without getting dry, crumbly, and patchy. It doesn’t have a strong smell and there’s a ton of product in the container, which means more bang for your buck! This little guy will definitely last me a long time.
Long nights and early mornings… I think we can all relate! These under eye patches have been life savers for me because they actually work. I can’t tell you how many eye patches I have tried in the past and they don’t do anything for me. I don’t know about you, but I hate paying a ton of money for something that I think “kind of” works. I want results, people! These patches use ‘Stem Cellular” technology to help reduce the appearance of fine lines, dark circles, and puffiness. I’ve been really impressed with Juice Beauty here lately and will most likely be buying more of their products in the immediate future.
Do I even need to say anything about these sunglasses? They’re so cute! I love Quay and own several pairs of their sunnies. They are good quality, durable, but still affordable. I don’t like paying a high price for sunglasses because I always end up throwing them in the bottom of my purse, sitting on them, and then eventually losing them. These are all black with mirrored lenses and have the cutest cat eye shape! Super comfortable and don’t sit heavy on my nose. I highly recommend checking out all of their sunnies!
Alright, that’s it for my October favorites! I hope you all have an amazingly blessed Thanksgiving with your families. Hug your loved ones tight and tell them you love them. Life is too short and precious.
